Brahmadesam Temple or famously called as Rajendran Chozhan Temple is a culmination of 2 dynasty temple. It was built by Pallavas initially and then later it was completed by the Chozha Dynasty. You can also make a notice of the difference in the architecture in the materials of stones which was used. The main building will be in similar to Mamallapuram shore temple structure, so obviously we can say it was built by the Pallavas, then the place where the enclosed nandey is built by the Chozhas’. There are early tamizh inscriptions dating back to 900 AD and even before that. The beauty of this temple is that the writings have brought to light of the famous character “Vandiyea Devan” from kalki’s Ponniyin Selvan. Temple sits beautifully among the paddy fields, there is a legend which keeps passing from genration that this is the temple where the son of great King Raja Raja Chozhan son Rajendra Chozhan burial place. Historians have evidence stating that this is not his burial place, rather it was built way over his time and even before Raja Raja Chozhan. Nevertheless, this is a beautiful temple to visit, very calm absolutely not much of human visit this place. The reason to visit is the inscription of early tamizh writings all over the place in such a small temple. Imagine the glorious days when the actual structure and entire compound would have been in full glory of these rulers and people making use of this temple.
